Course on Life Support Skills.

Dear Volunteers,

September 11th is a very significant day! It is the International First Aid Day! On this special day, iVolunteer has something lined up for you to equip yourself as a better volunteer- a social doctor.

ARE YOU READY TO BECOME A ‘SOCIAL DOCTOR’?

What would you do if you have the unfortunate moment of having to witness your colleague collapse in front of you? If so, will you have a sense of panic or helplessness? Well, you are not alone! Medical emergencies are inevitable, and it is important for each one of us to be prepared to face it. While handling an emergency situation, every second counts and there is no scope for an error or a second chance.

From Business processes outsourcing, to Health processes outsourcing, India has always prided itself of well-trained professionals. With the changing demands of society it is imperative that not only healthcare professionals but each and every one of us are well equipped to make appropriate and quick decisions that will enable us to deal with emergencies until qualified help arrives.

iVolunteer along with SAGA (A Charitable Trust to create ‘social doctors’ by educating non-medical people on essential skills to handle emergencies to avoid delays while awaiting professional help.) will be presenting a course on life support skills, that will educate people on how best they can help to save a life by learning the essentials of basic life support. Having this knowledge and skill could make a ‘social doctor’ out of every individual who can now make an effort to attend on causalities before they deteriorate, thereby pave a path to a healthier society.

The second part of the program focuses on organ donation. Giving birth to individuals has for long been considered the only way of giving the ‘gift of life’…but organ donation is another noble gesture that enables individuals to give life to others. The SAGA program aims to dispel the doubts and clarify the myths associated with organ donation.
